Shiatsu is a Japanese form of massage therapy. The word Shiatsu means “finger pressure The theory underlying shiatsu is the same as acupuncture: Energy flows through meridians in your body, and applying pressure to specific points along those meridians affects your physical body, providing benefits such as relief from headaches and a wide variety of aches and pains, along with relief from stress, anxiety and other mental disturbances. Therapist perform traditional shiatsu with you fully clothed lying on a mat on the floor. However, some practitioners use a low massage table or do the technique with seated in a chair.
